The inaugural Tobago Sea to Sea Marathon

Event Schedule

  • 21st May: 5K starting in Scarborough at 4:00pm, and 10K starting in Bacolet at 4:30pm
  • 22nd May: half marathon starting in Goodwood at 5:30am, and full marathon starting in the Main Ridge Forest Reserve at 5:00am.

Race Course

The Sea to Sea race course will start in the Main Ridge Forest Reserve near Bloody Bay on the Caribbean coast, and proceed through the forest to Roxborough, Tobago’s second largest town, on the Atlantic coast. Athletes will then run along the Windward Road, flanked by the Atlantic coast, through picturesque seaside villages, to the capital Scarborough, and finally on to the 26.2 mile distance finish line at Lambeau Beach, Little Rockly Bay.

Registration & prizes

The race entry fee is US$100 per person for international runners; US$25 for Trinidad & Tobago residents; and US$10 for those under 20 years old. Registration can be completed online at www.seatoseamarathon.com. Local residents also have the option of downloading the registration form and paying at a local bank (TT$150 per person or TT$60 for youth under 20). The registration deadlines are 15th April for teams (minimum five people); and 7th May for individuals.

Medals will be availale for all finishers, as well as special prizes for top performers. A total of US$60,000 in prize money is up for grabs in a wide range of categories.

Marathon Village

The Marathon Village will be a hub of weekend-long activities to engage marathon participants, international and local guests. The Village will have an Expo area for local businesses and community organizations as well as several fun activities for all ages. On Saturday 21st May, there will be a pre-race carb-loading dinner party featuring Tobago “blue foods”. The Marathon Village is scheduled to open at 12:00pm on Friday 20th May through 11pm on Sunday 22nd May. The Village will be dismantled and road re-opened by 6:00am on Monday 23rd May.

Accommodation tour packages

Organisers are offering visitors and race participants special hotel packages that have been negotiated with their Choice Accommodation Partners. Hotel packages range from three to eight nights, giving visitors plenty of opportunity to enjoy the race and the island. With support from event sponsors and partners such as the Tobago House of Assembly’s Division of Tourism & Transportation; the Tourism Development Corporation (TDC); SporTT; the Tobago Athletics Committee (TAC); the Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (THTI); and the Tobago Football Referees Association, Sea to Sea Events Ltd aims to support a number of community organisations. These include the Yahweh Foundation; and Save Our Sea Turtles (SOS).
