Whether you’ll feel most comfortable at international hotel chains or at home-grown brands — or if prefer homey B&Bs, rustic eco escapes and more, we’ve got you covered. Here are our picks for where to stay in Trinidad for 2019, no matter what your needs or budget!

Luxury in the capital

The high-end hotels feature sought-after amenities, like top-class restaurants and excellent pool, gym, business, and conference facilities. In downtown Port of Spain on the waterfront, the recently upgraded Hyatt Regency Trinidad offers views of the Gulf of Paria, a range of dining, a roof-top pool, and an on-site spa. The Radisson, just across the road, boasts a revolving restaurant at the top; while the Courtyard by Marriott, situated just west of Port of Spain, is a draw for business travellers who can pop into MovieTowne next door for a bit of shopping, dining, or entertainment. The iconic Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre and classy Kapok boutique hotel both offer superb views of the Queen’s Park Savannah.

Southern charms

Down south in San FernandoTradewinds has both nightly hotel and monthly residency options, while the charming Royal Hotel islocated just around the corner from the entrance to San Fernando Hill, and the Cara Suites Hotel & Conference Centre overlooks Claxton Bay.

Gems of the east

In the east, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Trincity is located just five minutes from the airport, with the mall and a world-class golf course within walking distance. Also near the airport are the Grand Diamond Trinidad and the Monte Cristo Inn. Academic visitors and researchers will appreciate the recent addition of the University Inn at the University of the West Indies’ campus in St Augustine.

Beloved boutiques, B&Bs, and beyond

Among the most popular guesthouses, B&Bs, and self-catering options are The Allamanda (Woodbrook); Forty Winks Inn (Port of Spain); Thanna’s Place and Savannah Maison Guest House (Belmont); Kiskadee Korner (St Clair); Crosswinds Villa Bed & Breakfast (Santa Cruz); Culture Crossroads Inn (St James); The Inn at 87 (Newtown); Willard’s Bed and Breakfast (El Dorado); and the Coblentz Inn, Heritage Inn, and L’Orchidée Guesthouse (Cascade).
